BadamiCoders (SMC-Private) Limited (“BadamiCoders”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) operates the EchoTranslator mobile application (“App”).

This Privacy Policy explains how information is processed when you use the App. This policy applies solely to EchoTranslator distributed via Google Play.

1. Overview

EchoTranslator is a translation utility application that provides text, voice, image translation services, and a built-in phrasebook for common expressions.

• The App does not require account registration.
• We do not directly collect personal identifiers such as names, email addresses, or phone numbers.
• Certain technical information may be automatically processed by integrated third-party services to ensure functionality, analytics, and stability.

All data transmission is secured using HTTPS/TLS encryption.

2. Information Processing & Storage

A. Local Storage (On-Device Database)

EchoTranslator uses an on-device Room database (ConvDatabase.db) to store:

• Translation history
• Voice translation conversations

This information:

• Is stored locally on your device only
• Is not transmitted to BadamiCoders’ servers
• Is not synchronized to any cloud database
• Can be deleted by clearing app data or uninstalling the App

BadamiCoders does not have access to this locally stored data.

B. Translation Services

When you use translation features, text or voice input may be securely transmitted to Google Translation APIs to generate translation results.

• Data is processed in real time.
• BadamiCoders does not store translation inputs on its servers.
• Transmission is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS.

C. Image & Text Recognition (ML Kit)

The App uses Google ML Kit libraries for Optical Character Recognition (OCR).

• Image processing for text recognition occurs locally on your device.
• Images are not stored or uploaded by BadamiCoders.

D. Phrasebook (Static Content)

The App includes a Phrasebook feature providing pre-defined translations for various categories (e.g., Essentials, Traveling, Medical).

Offline Access: Browsing or searching the Phrasebook does not require an internet connection and does not involve the collection or transmission of any user activity or search queries.

Static Local Data: All phrase data is stored as a static JSON file within the App’s internal resources (raw folder).

3. App Permissions

The App requests permissions strictly for core functionality:

Camera
Used only for image-to-text translation. Images are processed temporarily and are not stored or shared.

Microphone
Used for voice-to-text translation. Audio is processed in real time and is not recorded or retained by BadamiCoders.

Network Access
Required to communicate securely with translation services and Firebase services.

4. Third-Party Services

EchoTranslator integrates trusted third-party services to improve functionality, analytics, and stability:

• Google Play Services
• Firebase Analytics
• Firebase Crashlytics
• Firebase Remote Config

These services, provided by Google, may automatically collect limited technical information such as:

• Device type and model
• Operating system version
• App version
• Anonymous usage statistics
• Crash logs
• Device identifiers (where applicable)

This data is used for:

• Monitoring app performance
• Diagnosing crashes
• Improving stability
• Enhancing user experience

BadamiCoders does not control how Google processes data collected through its services. For more details, please refer to Google’s Privacy Policy.

5. Data Collection, Sharing & Retention

BadamiCoders:

• Does not sell user data
• Does not rent or trade user data
• Does not create user profiles
• Does not collect personal identifiers directly

Technical and diagnostic data may be processed automatically by third-party services as described above.

Translation inputs are processed in real time and are not retained by BadamiCoders after completion.

Local translation history remains on the user’s device until manually deleted.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect data during transmission. All communication between the App and external services is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS protocols.

7. Children’s Privacy

EchoTranslator is a general-purpose utility application and is not specifically directed at children under 13 years of age.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe that a child has provided personal data, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to address the issue.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the App, third-party services, or legal requirements. Updates will be indicated by revising the “Last Updated” date.

Continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
